It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. During Reiki feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation, and feelings of peace, security, and well-being.

Introduction to the Sister Science of Yoga: Ayurveda (Part 1)
w/Melissa McKim, RYT
Sunday March 11th
Ayurveda, the sister science of yoga, was developed over 5000 years ago. Its premise is that we, as individuals, are made up of the 5 Elements that combine to make 3 Dosha’s (Vatta, Pitta, and Kapha). Each person is born with a unique balance of the 3 Dosha’s (Prakruti). Throughout our lives, diet and lifestyle can cause an imbalance of the Dosha’s (Vikruti).
In this workshop we will discuss the Dosha’s in depth and why they are important. We will also learn about the Ayurvedic clock and lifestyle and how it can determine when and what styles of yoga we practice.
Special Ayurvedic treats will be provided. Please advise if you have any food allergies.
