Beyond Asana- Personal Transformation Program. Deepen Your Practice

This program is designed for those students who are looking to learn more about the origins, philosophy, and deeper yogic practices that time does not allow for in traditional group yoga classes. 

Overview

1. The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali (Swami Satchidananda)

a. Learn the 8 Limb Path of Raja Yoga

b. The 4 Parts of the Mind

c. Obstacles on the Yogic path and how to remove them

2. Sanskrit and the power of Mantra

a. Why do we use Sanskrit?

b. Developing a daily meditation and japa mala practice

3. *Ayurveda (the sister science of Yoga)

a. Diet and daily practices to build ojas (immunity) and how live in alignment with nature.

b. The sub doshas: 5 Prana Vayus; Tejas and Ojas. 

c. Personal Prakrtti and Vikruti Assessment. 

d. Using the wisdom of Ayurveda to develop your personal  dinacharya and personal practice (Yoga Chikitsa).

4. Jyotish and Vastu Shastra

a. Students will have their Vedic charts created and read by a vedic astrologer.

b. Students will receive an overview of Vastu Shastra (the Vedic version of Feng Shui)

5. The Subtle Energetic Body

a. Chakras and the Koshas

b. Overview of Marma points and correlation with TCM meridians.

6.  The Four Aims of Life

a. Learn the 4 Aims of Life according to Ayurveda according to Caraka Samhita

b. Uncover your personal Dharma, Sankalpa and Vikalpa.

Book: The Four Desires (Rod Stryker)

7. Mantras/Japa Mala 

a. Students will learn several Vedic mantras as well as receive deity mantras based on their Vedic chart.

8. Bandhas

9. Pranayama

10. Mudras


Time Frame: 3 Hour Classes In Studio. 

Reading and assignments between classes.

Investment: $1400.00 (can be broken down into monthly class payments.)


3 Books: Can be purchased in hardcover or downloaded to an e-reader through Amazon. Students will receive a pendulum, meditation journal, mala and full Ayurvedic Health Consultation.
